It’s a day chock-full of music alongside the Petaluma River as the Aqus Community presents its second annual Aqus Foundry Festival on Saturday, June 30.
The all-day music festival at foundry wharf is a family-friendly event pairing local music with local food and beverage purveyors. The stage area will be set with the river as a backdrop, offering the adjacent lawn space of the business park to attending guests to picnic, dance and play.
Aqus Community is a membership driven group that encourages the connection of individuals, businesses and nonprofits by bringing together interests, talents and energy — fostering a healthier community. The purpose of the festival is in keeping with the Aqus Community purpose of community building while also helping Petaluma nonprofits.
“Aqus Community creates events such as this (Foundry Fest) to gather people in support of our local charities, nonprofits and businesses, thereby building a stronger and more vibrant community,” said John Crowley, founder of the festival.
Proceeds from this year’s Aqus Foundry Festival will benefit Committee on the Shelterless. COTS has been a longtime member of the Aqus Community and has participated in many of the community events over the years.
“Our sense of community and connection is a big part of why Petaluma is a great place to live, and Aqus and COTS are important expressions of this sense of community,” said John Records, executive director of COTS. “That’s why COTS has been a founding member of Aqus Community. We are really grateful that the festival on June 30 will benefit COTS, and attendance at the festival is a fabulous way to both enjoy our community and support COTS.”
The festival is held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the river stage at Foundry Wharf, 189 H St.
