Petaluma Animal Services Foundation is a nonprofit, community based animal shelter operating under contract with the City of Petaluma. PASF took over operations on August 1, 2012, and since then, the shelter functions as an open admission no kill shelter. What’s open admission? It means we take any and all animals from Petaluma residents. All ages, breeds, conditions, healthy or not, are welcome to seek love, care and shelter at PAS, and it is our job to find and place that animal, in a loving home. Hope and homes for animals in need is not just a slogan for us, we mean it.
PASF is responsible for animal control for Petaluma, Cloverdale, and Healdsburg, too. Our ACO’s are responsible for public safety, rescues concerning wildlife and domesticated animals, and work closely with citizens, rescue agencies, and the shelter to ensure excellent outcomes for sick and injured or abandoned animals.
We offer innovative programs that cut red tape, and make adoption a breeze. Adoptions have lots of moving parts, and settling in takes time. We offer foster to adopt programs that allow folks to take an animal home, and see if it’s a good fit over time. Could be a week, or a month. If it’s not the best decision you’ve ever made, bring the animal back, no cost or penalty to you, or the animal. Flexible, fun, clean and helpful, you can count on us to provide you with an excellent pet, and excellent adoption experience.
